Is there a way to whitelist specific IPs for SmartCJ admin area access (i.e. block other IPs)?

Yes, settings
<b>Limit access</b> to admin by IP<br>
format: 192.168.2.2,192.168.1.0/24

You can run update, I've moved the admin area option so you don't have to look for it
