Hi,
When I was trying to run upgrade on v2.1 for latest build I got message:

IonCube loaders are too old. Please, ask admin to update Ioncube loaders.

After asking admin this is what he said:

"the script expects IonCube loader v6.x probably and in order to use v6 on your server, we would have to convert to EasyApache 4 which will break nginx, cannot use nginx with EA4"

Currently using v5.1.1 IonCube on server. How do I go about this?

1. I have no idea why EA 4 will break nginx, never had this issue
2. EasyApache 3 is scheduled for deprecation in January of 2018 - you'll be forced to update anyway
3. Ioncube forces us to version 6 otherwise optimizer doesn't work

conclusion: you can stay at the present build and keep it this way but sooner or later you'll be forced to update EA

PS I don't see any reasons why you can not update ioncube loaders with EA3

Its because IonCube v5.1.1 is the highest version cPanel allows. Server admin sent me this also:

Anyway they can just update ioncube loader manually with that script.
