Upload videos via ftp

I would like to host videos for a smart cj tube. I plan to upload videos via ftp and then to import them, as I have videos on my pc. Which is the easiest way to put them on tube and to host them on my server? Is this possible?

1. upload to any folder at that domain
2. import as usual giving url to movie in that folder as FLV URL

This is a very good idea, to bad i didn't think of it sooner. Can i use mp4, flv, wmv extension files? All will work?

Yes, as long as FLV player can play it.
