Hi, if i start this topic its because i got a good server but the cron job make him going crazy, the server overload and some process stuck. To solve the problem i run the rot and cron in 10 minute interval. I have the possibility to build another server and i want to know your opinion to have the best performance and stability, i got only for now 10 website and a total of 30k traffic/day and i can't grow without to think to play with the stability of my server.

I don't really feel secure to update a server in prod, but if its possible to fix i will maybe prefere it instead of moving all website on the new server

For now i got a VPS
OS CENTOS 6.5 i686
6 GB of ram
8 core Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1270 V2 @ 3.50GHz

Apache 2.2.26
php 5.3.28
MySQL 5.1
PHP 5 Handler dso

For the new server I will have the same CPU and RAM but i can upgrade if necessary all comments are welcome...

Which OS is better?
I think to use Ngynx instead of apache
I think to use SSD for better I/O
MySQL 5.5 with MyISAM

The topic is really complicated.
The best idea here is to ask a good admin, caz there's no special servers for any script.
"best OS" or "best HDD" doesn't exists

I think you can start with mysql tunning, innodb, php-fpm, more memory and so on.
