Google update in January effect anyone?

I have a client with 5 SmartCJ sites and all five seem to have gotten hit by update in January 2014 in google search. All dropped about 90% of their traffic.

I don't think google will justify why they did this,it seems like a penalty to all sites using SCJ, but so far sites have not got de-indexed.

I don't think its a layout issue cause not all webmasters are using same layout.I myself have 6 different kind of layouts and all of them got hit.admin wrote:I agree that it's better to create new sites and try not to copy layouts from old sites.
