searchd error: offset out of bounds (offset=1000, max_matches=1000) how to increase max search for sphinx? thx

scj\includes\libs\sphinxapi.php
$this->_maxmatches = 1000;
but i don't think you should do it..

I change the setting in file to 10000 and ask my server to change on his end too. but the result still only shows 1000?
please help.
