Thumb quality and filters

Hello,
How to improve thumbnails for videos or pictures. Is there any setting to make them more sharp, give better colors.
What setting you guys use? Can someone help around this?

Hello,
Actually this is exactly what I was looking for but didn't find it under wiki.... it seems I did not looked well there.
Thank you for this and I'm aweare that things needs some testings... but at least now I have some examples I can follow and test.
Thank you again for this and I'm sure this will help solve my image quality issues.
