Rewrites will be fine as i'll later delete the scj folder and keep folder name same as before. Only thing is I am not using master/slave as each site has its own data,thumbs..So I will have to reinstall the scripts on all the domains so each site has the new files right?

No, you still can just copy files as I've described above.

and yet you have to check rewrites as all rewrites go through out.php now

basically just a few lines

On all sites I have out.php renamed to something different, each site has its own rewrites where everything is passed through out.php. Should work right?

Yes
But it doesn't mean you don't have to test your site after the upgrade

hmm ... ok, lets try it the other way

You need NEW files

You can get NEW files by installing the script from scratch on each domain
or
by coping NEW files from ONE installed copy to each domain

" I must install new copy of script on all my sites right?"

what would you answer?

Hi,
Had a few questions:

1.) After php is upgraded will the script stop working till the new files are copied into scj folder?
2.) Are there any other files other than config.php, common.php , .htaccess that need to remain same? All htaccess files must not be overwritten also while copying new files right?
3.) Do the databases need to be backed up and re-imported into script for each and every site?

Regards,
